You'll be designing complex brain-busters in no time, trust us. But don't worry: the Puzzle Maker is as powerful as it is easy to use. This is obviously a very, very, very, simple map. You can share your puzzle with everyone, or just share it with friends, or even keep it private until you think it's ready. So we built a test chamber: Now what? It's time to publish it to the Steam Workshop. Step Five: Now we're going to rebuild our map to see it in action. Step Four: Now we're looking at this picture of Gabe someone made in the Puzzle Maker. Step Three: Surprise! We're throwing this step away. Seriously, we might have over-promised on this. When they are initially found in test chambers in Portal, the radios are set to the frequency 85.2 FM, and play an instrumental version of 'Still Alive'.

On March 1, 2010, a Portal update expanded the radios' role within the game, using it within an alternate reality game to promote Portal 2. First, place a blue portal on the angled wall panel. Radios can be found through the Enrichment Center in Portal, and less frequently in Portal 2. Step Two: Connect the button to the door. In the first room of the testchamber is a high energy pellet dispenser as well as a receptor, both positioned on the ceiling. Let's choose a big red button and place it somewhere on the map. If you have a friend helping you count, tell them to start now. On the left, you can select from any of the puzzle elements from Portal 2. As you approach the cubicle, do a physics-defying mid-air turn (by simultaneously moving forwards and right, and turning to your right) to curl in behind the cube. Here's the basic map template you start with. Nip out and shoot a portal onto the face of the sloping panel, then jump over the edge to the low floor, shooting your other portal as you fall, to go flying across the chamber. Wow! Is our Puzzle Maker really this easy to use, or are these guys just bald-faced liars? Let's find out, and try to make a playable map in only FIVE STEPS. "Possibly the easiest level editor known to man," claims NOW Gamer's Adam Barnes.
